Currently there are no restrictions on using radar detection and jamming devices in SC and GA. The following website provides plenty of information on the subject:

Just remember, you will be shown no mercy when you are pulled over with a radar detector :-)

These are the fines for speeding on Hilton Head including inside plantations:

Speeding 1-10 mph over speed limit	$76.00
Speeding 11-15 mph over speed limit	$128.00
Speeding 16-25 mph over speed limit	$180.00
Speeding 26 mph over speed limit	$440.00
Too fast for Conditions (Code 21)	$75.00
Too fast for Conditions (Code 41)	$125.00
